BPS Talaud-Disperindag Synergize to Strengthen Sectoral Statistics for Quality Policies

The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Talaud Islands Regency, Indira Anastasia Lolowang, held a strategic audience with the Head of the Talaud Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag), Pitje Maabuat, on June 3, 2026. This meeting confirmed a joint commitment to improving the quality of statistical data in the industrial and trade sectors to support policy planning, program monitoring and evaluation (monev), and ensuring the openness of public information in Talaud.

As a statistical supervisor based on the Law, BPS Talaud will provide comprehensive technical guidance to Disperindag. The focus is on increasing capacity in producing accurate, reliable, and timely sectoral data, 
1. Industrial Production & Distribution: processing industry, production capacity, and local supply chain. 
2. Trade & Market: Statistics on basic prices, distribution of goods between islands, availability of strategic commodities, and market dynamics. 
The Head of BPS Talaud, Indira Anastasia Lolowang, emphasized: 
"Quality industry and trade data is important for regional economic policy. Through this guidance, we not only ensure that Disperindag's data collection methodology meets standards, but also encourage transparent data dissemination to the public. This is important so that the public can monitor the performance of the real sector and at the same time be used as objective evaluation material for policy makers." 

Head of Talaud Trade and Industry Agency, Pitje Maabuat, expressed his full support: "We welcome this synergy. Accurate data on food prices, stock of goods, is vital for quick decision making, such as market stabilization or program intervention. With BPS guidance, our data will be more standardized, easily accessible to the public, and become a credible monitoring and evaluation tool for the Talaud Regency Government in evaluating programs."
